A member asked:

What to do if my cortisol level was 26.5 at around 4pm when i got my blood drawn and my doctor won't do anything about it. what can i do about this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

2nd opinion: Hi. You could have an abnormality in adrenal function. You could see an endocrinologist, the specialty that deals with these sorts of things, who would do the appropriate history, physical exam, and lab work to determine if there's a problem. What prompted your doctor to draw a 4 PM cortisol in the first place? If you think you're sick, and your doctor's not responsive, get a 2nd opinion.
