A member asked:

I have a 542 blood platelet count, i need to have a normal count for my medical to work onboard a ship? what should i do? thank you for your answers!

Find the cause: Some folks simply run high. Or you may be marginally iron deficient without anemia. You may need a letter from a hematologist saying that this poses no danger; it's the low platelet count that creates a dangerous work situation.
