Try this: I understand you need a normal blood count to work in your country's merchant marine. Think about taking an iron supplement empirically. This is substandard medicine and what i'd really like you to do is get evaluated by a competent physician / hematologist. But this might get your platelets down if the cause is mild iron deficiency. Get a proper workup when you can. Best wishes.

Discuss w/ ur MD: Go to see your md. Your md should evaluate you to find the cause of elevated platelet. We can't tell you what to do or give any advice-from a very limited information. Elevated platelet can be due to different conditions including reactive process to infection, inflammation, bleeding, iron deficiency vs other causes -i.e. Primary bone marrow problem etc. You've got to go to see md and get checked.
