Need to recheck: I will recommend follow up with your healthcare provider for thorough evaluation and repeat blood work. This will help exclude underlying causes of increased platelet count (reactive or secondary thrombocytosis) There's also another type called primary or essential thrombocytosis which may be associated with mutation.
