Discuss also with MD: He has had more than the usual amount of radiation for a 3 year old but these tests are usually quite safe and do not lead to long term complications. Chest and neck x rays have far less radiation than a brain ct. Using sunscreen and a hat during peak sun hours will decrease his exposure to uv rays. Eating well and including foods rich in antioxidants and vitamin c helps maintain a healthy defense.

Reasonable to be: New digital xray machines deliver much less radiation than the older machines, but less is always better. Let your doctor know of your concerns to minimize radiation.
