Doubt ischemic pain: Ischemia is the result of a lack of oxygen, usually due to poor blood flow. Given your age and location, pain in the left rib cage is unlikely to be ischemic in nature. Even though cardiac ischemia (angina) can give you pain in this area, again at your age, this is unlikely. Musculoskeletal strain or less likely internal pain from ulcer disease, pancreatitis, pneumonia can be considered.
