No perfect treatment: Biotin is a vitamin that is found in small amounts in numerous foods. Biotin is used for preventing and treating biotin deficiency associated with pregnancy, long-term tube feeding, malnutrition, and rapid weight loss. It is also used orally for hair loss, brittle nails, skin rash in infants. There is no one perfect treatment for selective hair growth in scalp but you can seek help from skin doc.

No magic bullet: I will invest heavily in any food which has proven efficacy in promoting hair growth. Hair growth is dependent on many factors including hereditary, stress level, hormone status (thyroid), iron level etc. I have no problem with biotin but it will not likely add a strand of hair to your scalp. See a dermatologist if you are the only one in the family with scanty hair growth.
