Not typical: Asthma is a reversible airway obstruction and can be due to an inflammatory issue in the lung tissue. Sometimes a systemic reaction may mimic or exacerbate flares but not typical. No firm link: ? is there a link between fibromyalgia and asthma. No links have been reported. That said, if a person with asthma were severely afflicted to the point of having to lead a severely sedentary and inactive lifestyle, which is rare, that person might develop advanced muscle and other soft tissue weaknesses, which can participate as co-factors in the evolution of fibromyalgia.
