Please advise if it's normal to have too much pain after a heart surgery?

Pain: It is never normal to have "too much pain". Pain is not unusual after cardiac surgery especially if the sternum has been split. This can hurt for weeks after the surgery and we usually provide the patient with pain medications for this. If you have post operative pain let your doctors know.
