It could be: Cold sensitivity is a normal thing which is not an indicator of a problem. Try using a sensitive too toothpaste such as sensodyne.

Yes, it is normal: It is very common for ones teeth to feel very sensitive after a scaling and cleaning. This is particularly true if there is a lot of scaling and scraping was done. Some people have more sensitive teeth than others and the scaling can upset the trigger the nerve endings, leading to temporary pain. Use otc pain medication for a few days and you will be back to normal. Hope it helps.
