Please advise if it's irresponsible for doctors to prescribe reglan (metoclopramide) for lactation?

DO NOT USE!!: Reglan (metoclopramide) has a Black Box Warning from the FDA. This is only used when a drug poses serious side effects. Reglan (metoclopramide) can cause tardive dyskinesia. The internet and chat rooms are filled with discussions of supplements or medications to increase breast milk. Most don't work or are outright dangerous. It makes no sense to treat yourself AND YOUR BABY with medication for a non-illness.
