Probable: You have an idiosyncratic response to these two drugs. The neuromuscular responses may be quite similar but these two drugs do not share similar allergenic or chemical structure. I can't tell you whether it is appropriate for the doctor to prescribe Reglan (metoclopramide) for you not knowing much about your history or previous response to alternate therapy.
