Traumatic, infective: Following urethral surgey & rarely congenital. Strictures are narrowings of the urethra causing urinary obstruction of varying degrees. Can occur after straddle injuries or penile trauma. Post infectious strictures can develop from gonorrhea. Urethral meatal stricture or stenosis is the most common complication of neonatal circumcision & not uncommon after hyposadias & urethroplasty surgery.
