I'm on 450mg of lithium. i'm certainly better than off my meds, but i don't like the lith. any other alternatives?

Mood Stabilizer: There are several medications which are mood stabilizers and each have their pros and cons. Some medications work better than others in certain areas such as depression, mania, suicidal thoughts and impulsivity. I think it is important to talk to your doctor about your concerns and perhaps why he/she chose lithium for you. The picture shows a partial list of alternatives.

Bipolar: Lithium is one of many mood stabilizers used to treat bipolar do. Other possibilities include depakote, lamictal, tegretol, trileptal, seroquel, abilify, (aripiprazole) etc.
