Octreotide scan: With spect. The advantages of octreotide imaging include higher sensitivity in the detection of neuroendocrine tumors, especially in the detection of carcinoid tumor where it approaches 100%.

Octreotide Scan: An octreotide (also called sandostatin) nuclear medicine scan is often helpful in this situation. It works best when done as a combined spect/ct. If this is not available a ct or MRI of the liver may provide additional information to the us.
