Ct scans: Usually if contrast is used since carcinogens are vascular tumors. Mr is also a good test as is forfeiture scanning.

Not quite following: A true liver cyst is benign and they are very very common. You can have cystic metastases to the liver but there is usually some associated solid tissue as well, so you can usually tell. It would be easy to do an ultrasound to see if they are just benign looking cysts. I would have to see the images you are talking about to know whether they could tell or not.
