Diagnostic: An hsg is a diagnostic procedure, not therapeutic. It is meant to determine if your tubes are blocked, it is not used to open the tubes. It is theoretically possible that if you have very very mild adhesions that the pressure of the fluid from the hsg helps to increase patent flow through the tube but that's unlikely.
