Weird ? after my hysterectomy i was told my ovary that was left is now in my abdominal cavity and not in pelvic cavity. could that be a problem later

Ovary position: Normal ovaries are in the abdominal cavity. You should not have any problem with that position.

Ovary after hysterec: Ovaries are suspended in the abdominal cavity after hysterctomy-this procedure is called 'ovariopexy".This is done to prevent discomfort with intercourse after hysterectomy.It will function just as well in the abdomen as its original location.I do not see this causing any problems later in life.

My 78 year old relative had a CT of the abdomen and pelvis. A unrelated finding was a report of fibroids on her uterus. This was a suprise as she had a hysterectomy 45 years ago. Pelvic ultrasound confirmed no uterus but identified some type of mass.
