Lumps and Bumps: Without being able to see the spot, it is impossible to say accurately. In general, if a spot is not changing and not painful, or is going away, it is unlikely to be serious. It would be concerning for an infection if the area were red, swollen or painful. Luckily, children rarely get skin cancer, but it would be wise to have the area seen by your pediatrician if it is slowly enlarging.
