Tonsil stones: These are called tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones. They are not really stones, but are collections of dead cells, mucous, and calcium. They are not dangerous, but can cause discomfort and bad breath. Wikepedia has a pretty good entry on this: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/tonsillolith. You can remove them yourself or have them washed out, or you can have laser surgery to keep them from returning.
