Likely viral: Viral infections can cause inflammation of the throat along with yellowish/thick mucus / postnasal drip, and even streaks of blood. If you develop high fever or severe difficulty swallowing or significant blood, seek medical attention. Other wise, try salt water gargles, humidifier, and neti pot. Take Care!
