Weight training: Is fine if you have no health problems and don't overdo it. Loosing fat in one area of the body is difficult but overall loss can be done. Workout can turn fat into muscle, which is the best outcome. Peace and good health.

With care: You can do weight training, but should be careful not to lift too much weight. More reps with a medium wt may be more effective than doing a few reps with high weight. Use good form and have someone watch you. You won't lose wt in a specific area, but you can get stronger and better toned. Muscle mass depends on testosterone, so you may not get bigger muscles for a while.

I wouuld recommend : I would recommend cross training with burst-interval high and low impact aerobics couple with a high fiber and prtien diet. Excellent programs are available on cable tv: golads body in motion and gilad's total body sculpt. If you have access to a wii system- I have had great success with the ea sports active plus or even wii fit.
