Possible hernia: Groin or abdominal pain can be a sign of a hernia; inguinal hernia being the most common. These hernias are often but not always associated with a bulge in the region. The important 1st test is physical examination as hernias can often be detected on exam alone. Imaging studies such as MRI ; ct scan can evaluate in more detail bone muscle tendon (MRI) and internal organs (ct) to aid the diagnosis.
