Prolonged "colds": The two most common reasons are sequential viral upper respiratory infections occuring so close together as to appear to be "one" illness( especially common in daycare setting) and sinusitis following a viral uri. Most experts define this as persistant symptoms > 10 days. This is longer than many parents are willing to wait for antibiotic therapy.
