Do well in school: Ophthalmology is the medical specialty dealing with eye disease. Training involves 4 years of college, acceptance into medical school, and after 4 years of medical school completion of 4 years residency training in ophthalmology ( working under the supervision of more senior eye doctors.) no one best college to start, anywhere you think you will do well academically is most important factor.

Work and study hard : I would suggest undergraduate studies in sciences or engineering in preparation for medical school. As ophthalmology residencies are highly competitive, you should strive for reputable medical schools and, of course, maintain excellent academic record. Your academic record often dictates your residency options, but among the premier programs are wills eye, johns hopkins, and bascom palmer.
