Therapy and Limits: If you are talking about a child, the best approach is to be supportive while still setting clear expectations concerning school attendance and performance. Therapy can be very useful. Antidepressants are sometimes used with kids to try to decrease anxiety related to school and social settings. In adults, anxiety related to school is best dealt with through therapy and appropriate use of meds.
