Carotid artery: It is an anatomical fact that the carotid artery (the large artery in the neck that supplies blood to your brain) is adjacent to the cochlea (inner ear). Unfortunately, you are one of many people with this symptom. Try not to focus on it because it probably will not go away. You are 21 and it is unlikely that this symptom represents anything serious. But a sonogram of neck might be considered.
