Variable: I hate to be so vague but this could be anything from a simple swollen sebaceous gland ( i.E mila, pimple) to a skin cancer. I would start by asking your primary care physician who may refer you to an ophthalmologist. He/she will start by asking whether the lump has grown, changed shape or color, etc. Malignancies usually noticeably change , especially over several years.

Cyst: May be a sebaceous or acne cyst among other causes. Have your doctor evaluate it for a more definitive diagnosis.

Milium: If you are referring to something that looks like a chronic whitehead, this is most likely a milium, or small skin cyst. They have no opening to the surface, so squeezing wont help. These can be unroofed and extracted by a plastic surgeon, dermatologist or esthetician. These are caused by sun damage in general.

Likely cyst: If it has been there for years and has not changed in size it is likely to be a growth/cyst. I would have a dermatologic surgeon/plastic surgeon take a look to know for sure. Good luck!
