Treat hypertension: Seems you have a healthy life style , but still have elevated blood pressure. You need to be evaluated by a doctor to distinguish possible causes, such as kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, genetic predisposition, diet, stress, and accordingly get treatment asap.

Essential: The most common type of hypertension is primary essential hypertension which tends to run in families. Secondary causes of hypertension are rarer and include kidney causes and glandular disturbances. Your md will guide you if he/she feels further testing is advisable. I'm sure some antihypertensive medication will be prescribed to lower your BP to around 120/80.
