My bmi is 16.8 (very underweight), but i have very high genetic cholesterol, high ldl (165) and high hdl (70). how do i gain weight and lower ldl at the same time but also keep hdl at optimal levels? what diet to follow?

I would use the Ornish diet first and see what happens. It will happen in a month if it is going to happen. Only way to tell is to try. Most with what I call a genetic high cholesterol have values over 500 LDL. So you not really consider yours genetically high but may run in your family do to eating habits.
