Snapping hip: You probably have asnapping hip. This is most commonly tendons snapping over a prominence. You should avoid doing things that make the noise and cause the snapping and work on some stretching that doesn't bother it. I recommend you go to a physical therapist orthopedic surgeon to get specific exercises which are safe.

Seek Ortho eval: A thorough hip exam by a physician specializing in hip problems can help discern whether your sympts are from your hip ( snapping psoas tendon, labral or cartilage tear). An mrag ( mr arrhrogram) may be indicated.

Hamstring secondary: Tight hamstrings can be primary or a symptom of another problem. So your hearing noises moving hip maybe the cause of the tight hamstrings. It is unlikely hips are unstable. People often feel that because of snapping hips. Seeing a sports medicine doctor would help develop a treatment plan.
