A member asked:

Is circumcision on a baby the same procedure as a circumcision on a pre-teen old boy?

Not at all: Circumcision on a baby is done awake and hopefully with topical anesthetic cream. It only takes a few minutes, no sutures are used and baby only feels mild discomfrt for a few minutes and at most about 1/2 hour. Pre-teen should be done under general anesthesia, takes 20 -30 minutes, then pacu recovery for about an hour. Then needs pain meds for a few days and limited activity. Best done as a baby.
