Swelling: Venous insufficiency is a result of congenital issues(rarely) or commonly de vein thrombosis and scarring of the intrinsic venous valves allowing venous reflux which is detected on the ultrasound exam. Good that no acute clots are present! see your vascular surgeon fir review and likely rx with stockings. And recommendations to reduce swelling.

Explanation: Venous insufficiency is caused by damage to the valves in your veins. This can lead to swelling, varicose veins, discoloration, and ulcerations. Initial therapy consists of compression stocking therapy, as well as evaluation for surgical therapy. All of these options will be discussed when you have your appointment with your doctor.
