Heartbeat on doppler: In most cases, everything is ok. It may be that the lie of the fetus is so that it's hard to detect its heartbeat with a doppler machine. It's not that uncommon not to hear heart beat with a doppler machine at this gestational age. I agree things like miscarriage happen, but again in most cases, it's ok.

Position, Bladder: The fetus may have been in a poor position for detection with the doppler probe. If your bladder was not filled the fetus could have been obscured by gas filled loops of bowel. In the absence of vaginal bleeding or cramping things are probably going to be ok so try not to drive yourself to distraction.

Too early: With a handheld doppler it might be too early. Usually heard after 10 weeks. An ultrasound with a vaginal probe, might hear heartbeat at 7 weeks.
