I had a doppler scan following symptoms of tia. i was told not to go out on my own, or be behind locked doors. if left on my own people were to check upon me every half hour or so. i'm having sudden drops every day. how serious is this?

As with any other unexplained symptoms that may result in serious health consequences your condition is to be considered serious until better understood, diagnosed and treated. Establishing and following up tightly with a neurologist is critical at this point, fall precautions should be followed indefinitely, keep a log with activities preceding and following such events.

I assume your had ultrasound of carotid arteries. Is so, what were the results? Were you put on daily low dose aspirin? Drop attacks could be caused by postural drop in blood pressure or by cardiac arrhythmias. You need more testing done for complete evaluation of your drop attacks. I recommend consulting a cardiologist in addition to a neurologist.
