Nothing: I play the saxophone too and as a dentist, putting something between the lower teeth and lips sometimes would be nice. However, as a musician, this takes away from your ability to play properly. You have to maintain a good seal around the mouthpiece and allow for vibration of the reed. Plus you can adjust your pitch and intonation with your mouth. Unfortunately this means nothing can be placed.

Ask your dentist: I'm not sure why you want to place something over your teeth. Are you worried that your lower lip pressing your lower teeth may alter tooth alignment? Or do you have sharp (maybe broken) teeth and they cut into your lip lining? For the former, please ask for a retainer or another advice from your dentist. For the latter, broken teeth need to be treated. I hope this helps….!
