Popsicles: If there is ongoing bleeding or recurrent bleeding from the laceration, then it may need a stitch and you need to go to the er. If the bleeding has stopped, cool compresses to the area will diminish the swelling. In a 1 year old, you can often accomplish that with a popsicle or an ice cream cone. It may be her first cut, but probably not her last!
