Pinworms: No. Pinworms ( enterobius vermicularis) are exclusively transmitted from human to human . This is usually by hand to mouth transmission of microscopic eggs excreted on the peri-anal skin at night when the worms emerge into the warm air under the covers. Hence, the classic symptom of night waking due to "bottom itching".
