A member asked:

What to do to get rid of the white coating and red bumps at the back of my tongue?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good oral hygiene: Some red bumps on the back of your tongue are normal. Those are called your "circumvallate" taste buds. The white coating is a build up of dead skin cells and sometimes a little bit of normal yeast. When you brush your teeth, at least twice a day, brush your tongue, too, and that will help remove the normal buildup.
