Taste Buds: When most people first notice them they are often freaked out by these bumps on the back of the tongue, which are usually just the taste buds! If not painful, the white coat is likely also a normal finding and should be able to be lightly brushed away. If painful or difficulty swallowing or progressive other things need to be looked into.
