So, in practice, routine cystoscopy is not needed, but may be required to rule out urethral stricture for failing to response to medical treatment.

Too young for it: Prostate enlargement is a problem of later years, starting at 50 years of age and causing symptoms in your 60s. You do not need a cystoscopy to check its size, it is beat done with a physicians finger in the rectum.
