Need more info: How high was the fever and what did it come down to. You can give fluids to hydrate the child this may help reduce the fever., if it is a high fever 102 or higher you can alternate tylenol (acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen ( give tylenol (acetaminophen) then 2 hours later give Ibuprofen then 2 hours later give tylenol (acetaminophen), do not exceed recommended dosages, .
