Infection: Symptoms of viral infection are fever, chills, muscle aches, fatigue and frequently nasal symptoms and/or cough. A person's immune system will fight off the infection, so treatment is aimed at "comfort" to minimize symptoms. That's why Acetaminophen can help with fever and aches. They are not necessary if symptoms are mild. Rest is important to allow the body to heal.
