Keep trying: Keep monitoring and trying. Gestational dm puts you at risk for diabetes lifelong. Being overweight increases that risk. Keep your weight as normal as possible. Join a supervised weight management program if needed to find out the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off. Good luck.

Gestational Diabetes: You don't say what your weight is. Being overweight in itself will increase your risk of diabetes. There is more than one thing that is possible. I think you should see a functional medicine or integrative medicine doctor. You could have low thyroid function, could already have diabetes, or your lifestyle may be causing you to gain weight. Please see your doctor for evaluation and treatment.

Paleo diet/low carb: Contrary to popular belief, best way to prevent diabetes, cholesterol, and loose weight is by completely stopping high carb foods (grains, lentils, potatoes based items). Also avoid milk protein since it causes insulin resistance. Low carb foods: eggs, fish, meats, vegetables, avocados, some saturated fat (butter, coconut oil), olive oil are very effective.
