A member asked:

If mrsa gains entry via a cut between the webspace of a toe and travels via the bloodstream lodging into the thigh, must the foot (entry point)also show signs of the infection just as the thigh area?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Mrsa need not produce clinically relevant changes at the site of inoculation for it to travel either through the bloodstream or lymphatics to other areas of the body. You should probably undergo a transesophageal echocardiogram. Hope you are better soon. Best wishes.
