Stronger antibiotic: Doxycycline may not be the best antibiotic for you and it may require one like avellox or Levaquin (levofloxacin) to clear the infection. Warm applications, steam inhalations and nasal irrigations may promote nasal drainage to relieve the pressure. A ct scan of the paranasal sinuses is often done in stubborn cases. Discuss these suggestions with your physician or otolaryngologist.
