See ENT doctor: The swollen tonsil and the cough may be independent and unrelated. But at age 22, the cough should have resolved within a month. Are you a smoker? A unilateral (left side only) swelling of a tonsil rarely could be serious. See an ENT doctor for appropriate diagnosis of the tonsil.
