Food: Do not give your child things that he can choke on like hot dogs, lettuce, popcorn, nuts. Or large pieces of food.

Choking hazards: There are no specific food groups or foods that you need to steer away from once your child has their first birthday. That being said, you do need to avoid foods that they can choke. Hot dogs are still number 1 choking hazard in toddlers, but so are things like chunks of raw veggies that they can't chew. Make sure things are cut up small, and child should be sitting to eat, not running around.
