36 month old toddler is underweight. doctor said he needs higher fat foods; recommended lots of whole milk all day. what are other choices for healthy high fats for a picky eater?

Not just milk: I would limit the amount of whole milk to no more than four cups a day. You want him to drink lots of milk but not so much that it affects his appetite for everything else. Nut butters are a good choice (preferably without added saturated fat (hydrogenated oils.)) i will also usually recommend a supplement such as pediasure, boost kid essentials, or carnation breakfast essentials at bedtime.

See below: There are yogurts, or kefir's that children usually like. Whole grain pasta, cheeses, fruits, veggies, meats (not processed). Keep meal times the same and try to eat together (if possible). Offer the same or very similar food to your toddler, but also have 1 things that he likes in case he refuses to eat. Persistence is a key and keep offering the food even if the child says 'no'.
