A member asked:

Confirmed histoplasmosis live in ohio river valley (65yrs) have 18yr bird if i get rid of him he will die what is danger of me keeping him?

Histoplasmosis: If you already have this fungal infection and are either being treated or do not need therapy the bird is a non-issue. There is no danger to keeping him. If you are concerned about potential exposure to h. Capsulatum from the bird droppings, i imagine that is conceivable but most persons in the ohio valley have already been exposed to this organism and repeat exposure is ok.
